Big moves for a cleaner Taytay!  Under the leadership of Mayor Allan de Leon, the LGU proudly rolled out four brand-new trucks to support the Sagip Ilog Operations and Waste Collection Team.

These trucks aren’t just for show—they’re here to help us fight flooding, clear our rivers, and make sure our town stays clean and safe for everyone!

What Are These Trucks For?

They’re specially made to:

  • Remove garbage and debris from rivers, canals, and drainage systems

  • Prevent clogging that leads to flooding during heavy rains

  • Support emergency clean-ups when needed

  • Improve overall waste management in key areas across Taytay

Why Is This Important?

  1. Clogged canals = flooded streets

  2. Dirty waterways = health risks (like dengue and leptospirosis)

  3. Clean rivers = safer, happier, and more livable communities

  4. Waste-free drainage = faster rainwater flow and less damage to homes

 FUN FACTS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

Did You Know?

  • One plastic bag can block an entire drainage pipe!
  • Mosquitoes can lay eggs in as little as a bottle cap of water—which is why stagnant, trash-filled water is a danger zone.
  • A clogged estero can overflow in just 30 minutes of heavy rain.
  • Taytay’s rivers eventually flow into larger bodies of water like Manila Bay—so what we dump here affects much more than just our town!

From Mayor Allan de Leon:

“These trucks are part of our commitment to long-term solutions. This is about creating a Taytay that’s clean, safe, and ready for the future. The people deserve no less.”

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

✅ Throw your trash in proper bins—not in canals or streets
✅ Segregate waste at home to reduce clogging at the source
✅ Join or support barangay clean-up drives
✅ Report blocked waterways or illegal dumping
✅ Educate kids and neighbors about how small actions lead to big changes

Let’s keep Taytay clean, flood-free, and future-ready—one truck, one canal, one community at a time!
