COTABATO CITY – Anti-narcotics agents cleared 170 drivers, conductors, and dispatchers of public transport terminals here following a surprise drug test conducted Friday.Director Rogelito Daculla of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM), said they conducted the mandatory drug test under “Oplan Harabas” in coordination with the Ministry of Transportation and Communication.Oplan Harabas is a nationwide anti-drug program initiated ahead of the Holy Week activities in coordination with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.“We are glad that no one among us tested positive for illegal drug use,” said Santos Kamsa, one of the van drivers plying the Cotabato-Davao route.“This is a very good indication that drivers of passenger vans are drug-free,” Kamsa added.Daculla said Oplan Harabas aimed to ensure the safety and security of our drivers and passengers who are traveling in celebration of Holy Week, to deter drug traffickers from transporting Illegal drugs, and to promote drug-free terminals.
